Limelight Facial

When you meet someone for the first time, what is the first thing that catches your attention? Definitely the face!

The face has been described as the focal point of our interaction with one another. While most people may think or want to feel otherwise, having skin abnormalities like acne, brown spots, scarring, red face, etc. makes one self-conscious. In most people, it has become a major cause of low self-esteem. They feel that they are inadequate and unable to make and keep friends just because they have these rare skin abnormalities. Some have had to search for various solutions, but the common ones have a couple of side effects that will discourage anyone from trying it out.

Surprisingly, the Limelight Facial which has been described as a non-invasive approach to the process of skin revitalization could just be the ideal solution to your problem. Reports have revealed that this procedure is capable of improving your skin tone as well as surface imperfections that are synonymous with aging. This main idea behind this is the use of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) to improve skin surface and tone as well as other imperfections that are associated with aging and sun damage.

This solution to all things redness and scarring of the face work in such a way that these skin abnormalities are removed or cleared with accuracy and precision. This treatment is ideal for those with fair to medium skin tones. It has also been designed with about three programs all integrated to target and also treat red-pigmented and brown areas by using heat. Additionally, this skin rejuvenation procedure is ideal for all parts of the body. It can be done on your neck, your face, etc. It is basically a procedure that seeks to rid your face of those abnormalities.

How It Works

Generally, this procedure is carried out in about one to three different sessions which are spaced about four to six weeks apart from each other. This simply means that depending on how severe your condition is, this procedure may be performed up to three times, and each of these sessions will be about four to six weeks apart. While four weeks is the ideal space to be given, the severity of your condition may make the medical practitioner extend the period to about five or even six weeks. Your skin type also plays a major role in determining how many sessions you have to undergo and the spacing of each of these sessions.

To ensure that the desired results are achieved, Limelight Facial is combined with what is referred to as “microdermabrasion.” Each of the sessions takes about 35 to over 45 minutes before it is completed. Once the procedure has been undergone, you will be required to follow-up on the process. That is, you will have to regularly report to the medical practitioner. In some cases, you may be asked to take a couple of medications, stay away from certain foods, as well as other requirements that you would be expected to adhere strictly to.

Before the procedure is started, the medical practitioner or cosmetic surgeon as they are oftentimes called will have to thoroughly and carefully clean your neck and face with a cooling gel. For the entire duration of the procedure, you will be made to wear sun-blocking eyewear, bear in mind that the eyewear worn most of the time are light ones. Once the procedure has been undergone, you may continue to feel the sensation and in rare cases, the pain between 24 to about 48 hours. It is important that you remember that your skin tone and the severity of your condition may also contribute to how long you feel the sensation after each session. After each session, improvements are seen from one to two weeks after.

Surprisingly, you may resume work immediately once that session is over. If you face swells right after the procedure, it can be covered with a little makeup. Within the first couple of weeks after the procedure, dark spots on your face will begin to darken gradually. Also, your face may begin to appear slightly red. If you experience pain or swelling after the procedure, you do not have to panic, in about 24 to 48 hours time, the sensation, pain, and swelling would all be gone.

Who Are The Ideal Candidates For This Procedure?

While this procedure can be undergone by almost anyone, the ideal candidates are those that have tiny veins, dark spots, red face, etc. This treatment or procedure is not in any way recommended for pregnant women or mothers that are breastfeeding.

Unknown to most people, the laser used to carry out this procedure cannot work on areas that have been covered with tattoos. What does this mean? If you have tattoos on your neck or face, the laser used during each session would not treat any skin abnormality that is hidden under the tattoo.

In addition, it is advised that you consult a medical practitioner before you decide to opt for this facial treatment.

Is It Permanent?

While the treatment is not permanent, there is a way you can increase its life span or longevity. Most importantly, you will need to integrate sun protection into your daily routine. It is advised that you take precautionary measures to protect your skin from sunlight. Currently, there are a number of creams and body supplements that have been manufactured to protect your skin from direct sunlight, do well to make use of them.
